I have considered starting a blog many times over the past two years, but always struggled with what it would really be about. Could I sustain enough interest in my writing (both personally and among readers)? However, I’ve come to realize that I have a lot to share…there’s a lot of information/anger/depth/wisdom bubbling under my surface and my personal Facebook account is not the place to share that with a wide audience.
To answer the question about what this blog is really about, perhaps I should start with what it isn’t: this isn’t a “mommy” blog or a “women’s” blog; this isn’t a blog about crafts or the like. There is nothing wrong with those blog genres, but if that is the content you are looking for, this is not the place to find it.
This is a blog about activism and advocacy – advocacy for change, equality, and humanitarianism. This is a blog that will highlight some of the indecencies occurring in our world, a blog about political activism, education reform and activism, and in some cases about *gasp* feminism. I look forward to sharing and engaging with my audience, and I hope we all learn a lot in the process.
